About Ghosts
Ghosts is the Seventh album released by Healey St. The music formula for this project is the same as the previous album. There are eight songs, two cover songs and six originals but of the six originals three are instrumentals. I decided to challenge myself with both music and vocals by picking two cover songs that weren't in my comfort zone. The three original instrumentals were inspired by not just a painting but the artist who created it, they flowed out of me with little thought. They just happened; a melody played and poured out like a drink or a cup of coffee in my case. The remaining three songs, I wanted stripped down to only a few instruments in some cases just two. In the case of these lyrics, I played with double meanings. The intent of the songs changed after I started writing them, but the subject stayed the same. Thank you all for helping with this, even though in some cases you probably didn't realize.

The album cover: The art for this album was created by Mirjana Ribic @ribicmirjana.

The album begins with:

Kashmir- A Led Zepplin classic, I stripped it down to just guitars and drums. No keyboards, I did this on purpose. This song was a challenge to organize and sing. There were so many moving parts.

Nina-For years I thought this woman was my nanny when I was a kid, she was in fact my Nina, my godmother who I only knew from two pictures. What ever happened to this woman? I have no idea. It was brought up when chatting with my friend Nori, a moment frozen or lost but then found again.
Dear Annie- I used to live in an apartment complex when I was younger. In the apartment above us, lived a girl with her parents. She never left the apartment and would stare out the window at the outside world. She was my age and watched me come and go with friends throughout the day and night for years. I tried speaking with her, but honestly the smell was too much. She never bathed. I wondered what she saw, what kept her inside, if her demons were real. Then of course, while I was writing this song, I reflected on my own?

Man on The Silver Mountain- Rainbow with Dio, another difficult song not only to play but also sing. I decided to not copy Ritchie Blackmore's guitar solo but write my own, I don't know if you have ever noticed this, but I rarely copy guitar solos. I believe music is about self-expression.

Too Far Away- This was inspired from a painting by Nori @nonno_3636 and @haruharu.noripon whose beautiful work about being at the ocean in her snoopy socks spoke to me. Nori named the song, I was going to call it wet socks. Which honestly might be the name of the next band I'm in.

Is it Just For You- This song is about immortality through art or the fear of it. The content of the lyrics were influenced from conversations with Sylvia Ryder @ryder.sylvia

A Walk on The Shore- Of course this is connected to wet socks, how else would they get wet.

Ghosts- I'm leaving this for you to figure out.
